Makita 40 Volt Tool Upgrade!

Sometimes it’s the small projects that make us most happy. Our deck and carpentry projects have really ramped up this summer and since we love utilizing the latest tools to help make our job a little easier, we decided to pickup a few of the new Makita 40 volt power tool lineup.

This little project was used to test out the Makita Earth Auger for our pending deck projects. While we have traditionally utilized gas powered augers this handy tool showed no signs at all of not being able to handle a days work with us. The four post holes that were dug in the video took under 15 minutes and barely touched the charge on the battery.

We have been building fences, decks and paver patios this summer and look forward to having this tool on the job site to make quick work of footer and postholes. We also picked up the Makita 40 volt Plunge Saw with the 55” track and have the 39” on the way to help break down our sheet goods for built-ins and other carpentry projects. The saw definitely keeps the edges on our sheet good perfectly straight and has already helped with the fabrication of a few shop jigs! More carpentry videos are in the works and will almost definitely feature the Plunge saw!
